The Association of Genealogy Educators and Schools (AGES) advances the development of family history and genealogy as an academic discipline in higher education in the following ways: developing degrees and courses, supporting instructors, and promoting research.
Curriculum and Program Development
AGES will engage with universities to promote and support the establishment of courses, certificates, minors, majors, and/or graduate programs. AGES will facilitate the teaching of courses across institutions, including the alignment of standards in curriculum.
Training
AGES will promote and support the training of educators.
Academic Research
AGES will promote and facilitate scholarly research and dissemination of research findings in the fields of genealogy and family history, as well as in aligned and interdisciplinary fields.
